Robyn Jelleff

Robyn started out as a lighting designer in early 80’s Melbourne, when the local music scene was thriving and every local pub had live music most nights of the week. In 1987 she made her way to London, where she designed light shows for artists such as The Beautiful South, The Cramps, Jimmy Somerville, Alison Moyet, Sparks and Marc Almond. By the early 90’s she’d made the move from lighting, to show production and then on to tour and event management. Robyn counts herself very lucky to have toured the UK, Europe and the USA extensively throughout the 80’s and 90’s, from Llubljana to New York, Le Bataclan to the Royal Albert Hall.

After 13 years based in the UK, touring the world and being co-founder & director of event production company True North UK Ltd, Robyn returned to Australia in 2000 and began working for a number of Australia’s top music & event promoters and bands. For the next twenty years as a director of Australian company McCarthy Jelleff Pty Ltd she continued taking care of events and tours, predominantly in Australia and New Zealand, in the role of Event Production Manager, Promoter Rep or Tour Manager. Since returning to Australia, she’s also been lucky enough to work overseas again on several occasions. Ticking Latin America off her touring bucket list was a highlight for 2019. Being Managing Director of Jelleff & Co. is the next chapter in her story.

James Jelleff

Growing up with both parents working in the live entertainment industry, James has been going to concerts and hanging out backstage, all his life. Having completed diplomas in business and sports management, he worked and travelled in the UK & Europe for several years, returning to Australia in late 2019, just before the world shut down. James has always been keen to venture into the family business and has been lucky enough to work in an assistant capacity on a number of tours prior to the global shutdown (eg. Rockwiz, One Direction, Little Mix), gaining valuable skills and knowledge along the way. He has also had experience accounting for and selling merchandise for acts such as Sheppard & Angie McMahon.

Over the years having worked in hospitality and tourism, his customer service experience is considerable. James' event management skills include an understanding of building and maintaining spreadsheets, plus logistical, planning and coordination expertise. Now that our live entertainment industry has regained its momentum after the Covid years, James has become a valued member of the J&Co. team and is now undertaking tour management, festival artist liaison and promoter rep roles.

Nanette Jelleff - retired

Nanette became involved in the Live Entertainment industry in the early 90’s when, on arriving in the UK, she began working for several of the biggest touring ‘rock n roll’ catering companies in the world. As Catering crew chief/accountant she toured UK and Europe extensively, including with artists such as Tina Turner, Rod Stewart, Neil Diamond, Tom Jones, Janet Jackson and Elton John. During the mid to late 90’s, Nanette began her move into event management, working as Production/Operations Assistant for the Disney Mega Train Tour in Europe and the Titanic Official Movie Tour in the UK. She also worked alongside Robyn and the team at True North UK, helping to produce the International Live Music Conference (ILMC) for a number of years.

On returning to Melbourne in early 2000, Nanette consolidated her event management skills and began work as a Production/Site Assistant and Tour Manager/Promoter Rep. At the same time she successfully completed a Diploma of Entertainment (Stage Management). As Tour Manager for Australian band Sheppard’s global tour in 2018, she had the opportunity to work back in the UK and Europe once again. Being a key member of McCarthy Jelleff and Jelleff &Co., Nanette has contributed significant skills and experience to the company over the years.
